Sadly, we are back to foreign rule.????
WE indians have so much double standards. WE cried out loud when the Fiji President of indian origin (but has settled there for many years now) was ousted b'coz he was not a native fiji but a "foreigner." We make such noise when Indians are discriminated abroad for the plain reason of being Indian. We feel discriminated in the US, UK and other EU countries even when we are there just for our higher studies and snatch the job opportunities of the locals. We still moan of being racially discriminated!! All that even when we do not hold any local citizenship!!!
And didnt we all rejoice when an Indian american contested for the Governor Elections in the US recently?
PLus, we Indians do make the Indian connection with some of the gr8 minds (in various fields like literary, science, arts etc) and show off as if they are the jewel of India even when they have ditched the Indian citizenship for luxurious/pompous life in another country's!!! When those ppl dont care about India, why do we care about them?? Isnt that double standard too?
And, honestly tell me, how many of u, given a chance, wud like to settle abroad? u cud easily say u wud never wanna go outta our gr8 country and will work hard for our country. but can u say that honestly?
And now we dare call a person who's legally an INdian citizen for many years, who's resided in India for as long - a foreigner!!! Agreed she may not form a gr8 leader (but only time will tell that..) of the likes INdia has seen in the recent past, but why not give her a chance and see for ourselves?
P.S: I am sick and tired of hearing about the Foreign issue being made such a huge issue. Where were u all when Mr.Vajpayee kept mumb over the Gujarat riots issue? And when he had been to Iran on a visit he acclaimed Islam to be a gr8 religion. and the same Mr.Vajpayee in Goa a few days later in a speech had this to say - "Islam ek Khattar dharm hai." Now, wudnt u call that double standards???
I hope i have not gone outta the bounds of common sense with my argument. I never had a liking for politics, but it just gets me when ppl form double-standard-opinions...
And if i offended any of u, please do forgive me...

One---Shame on India. One of the days I really feel shameful to say that I live in India.
Other---I hate when people say that... What have you done for your country to say that...
